Welcome Birds Trail Mix
As early March unfolds here, we're eagerly awaiting the full return of migrating birds. We've already heard the cheerful singing of robins and the honking of geese, and any day now, the Sandhill cranes will make their grand arrival. The changing seasons brings a sense of renewal, and this simple yet nourishing trail mix feels like a small way to celebrate the change of seasons. On the MIND Diet, I often turn to trail mixes instead of chips for a satisfying, brain-boosting snack. This particular blend is inspired by the birds - featuring dried blueberries, walnuts, sunflower seeds, and dark chocolate chunks.

Ingredients
- 3/4 cups raisins
- 3/4 cups walnuts
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chunks
- 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
Instructions
- Divide the trail mix into 6 containers
- Put the lids on and shake them up
Why You'll Love This
- This mix follows the MIND Diet principles by incorporating brain boosting foods:
- Berries (antioxidants for brain health)
- Nuts and seeds (healthy fats and vitamin E)
- Dark chocolate (flavonoids for cognitive function)
Eat well for the long run — and savor the season.
